Playing conditions
Etiquette and Rules
Eligible to play on our course and in all openly advertised tournaments are guest golfers/green fee players who have a handicap of 36.0 or lower and can prove their active membership either in a recognised golf club (e.g. ASG, DGV) or an association of club-free golfers recognised by the relevant national association with the official and current membership card.
Teetimes, time limits and place authorisation
The reserved playing times are to be kept by the players independently. Players registered in the same flight are obliged to introduce themselves to each other on the first tee.
The given time limits are to be understood as maximum times. Players who are moving too slowly will be removed from the game. The Club reserves the right to make special arrangements for the right of way on the pitch on certain days.
Etiquette and Rules
All users of our golf course are obliged to follow the etiquette and rules of the R & A Golf Club of St. Andrews and the Golf Club Interlaken-Unterseen (Local Rules and Etiquette).

Golf-Club Interlaken - History
Golf has been played in our region since 1904. Today’s golf course was created on the initiative of some tourist people from Interlaken and in 1963 the Golf Club Interlaken-Unterseen was founded. The golf course was designed by the German golf architect Limburger and built by the famous golf architect Donald Harradine. The construction work was started in late autumn 1963 and at Whitsun 1965 the course was opened for play on 9 holes. By the summer of 1966, however, the second 9 golf holes had been completed and since then Unterseen has had its 18-hole golf course, which was built at a cost of around Fr. 800,000 was realised. During the coming years, investments were also made primarily in infrastructure. So in 1983 a “Stöckli” was bought and used as an office. In 1976, the new cloakroom building and a pro shop were put into operation and in 1984, the space available was expanded to meet the needs of the new weighing hall. Since the restaurant also had to be extended, a new restaurant hall with 70 seats and all-round glazing was built in 1985. In 1987 and 1988 a rain shelter was built on the driving range and the too small and dilapidated workshop was replaced by a new building. Because the clubhouse could no longer meet the demands and the number of members, a new clubhouse was built in the winter half-year 1993 / 94 at a cost of 4 million Swiss francs. Due to the steadily increasing number of members, the driving range was too small and had to be renewed. On June 18, 2000, training was started on a new course. After about 40 years of use, the golf course no longer met the usual standard and was extensively upgraded from autumn 2003 to summer 2005. According to the plans of the Scottish golf architect John Chilver-Stainer all greens and all tees were rebuilt, within the golf course watercourses, lakes and ponds were created. All this was also connected with a renaturation of the existing watercourses as far as Lake Thun. The harmony between nature and golf has always been important to the Interlaken- Unterseen Golf Club and has become a reality with the new golf course.
